To commemorate six decades of heritage and development, the T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre (CLRC) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) established a Workstation at the CUHK Shanghai Centre in April 2026. The Workstation serves as an incubator for creative research in the humanities in Shanghai, fostering in-depth collaboration and exploring innovative paradigms in language studies. Its first academic event, “Linguistics+”, was successfully held from 15 to 22 July 2026.
Professor Tang explained that the “+” in “Linguistics+” evokes both “expert” and “increase” in Chinese: the programme aims to nurture future specialists in linguistics while expanding participants’ professional knowledge.
